Reading Circle "Classics World Literature": Robert Musil – The Man Without Qualities

Would you like to engage intensively with a significant literary work over 12 weeks and exchange ideas with others once a week? Then this reading circle is probably for you. 📖 We read approximately 80-100 pages per week. The reading sections are prepared and aligned with the chapters and their difficulty level. 🌳 We combine our meetings with a walk through the Sihlfeld cemetery and then find a quiet place to read and discuss. In case of heavy rain, we spontaneously go to a nearby café. During our reading circles, we consider what we want to deepen additionally for each work. We select suitable readings that can be discussed during the meetings. These are voluntary. For Robert Musil's The Man Without Qualities, the focus is on Ludwig Wittgenstein and Vienna around 1913 – an exciting time with major political, social, scientific, and cultural changes just before World War I and the collapse of the Habsburg Monarchy. Complementary cultural activities may also take place. Additionally, a small exhibition related to the book will be held after the reading circle. 📅 Start: Monday, September 7, 2026
