Les Nocturnes du MIR

Description

On one Thursday each month, take the time to discover the Ferdinand Hodler exhibition. Profession of faith on the occasion of the MIR's Nocturnes. A guided tour, by registration, is also offered from 5 pm to 6 pm.
From September 25, 2026, to January 24, 2027, the International Museum of the Reformation presents a unique exhibition dedicated to Ferdinand Hodler. Through about fifty paintings, drawings, and documents from the most prestigious art collections of Switzerland and Germany, the course offers a reinterpretation of his work as a modern spiritual quest: from the first Protestant-inspired religious scenes to his symbolist compositions, the artist explores the unity between human beings, nature, and a universal harmony of forms.
Under the curatorship of Niklaus Manuel Güdel, the exhibition reveals the inner and contemplative dimension of a work where nature, body, and rhythm become the vectors of a spiritual experience. A catalog as well as a program of conferences, guided tours, and musical and theatrical performances accompany this exhibition.
