Léman être vivant

This year, the ASL is pleased to host the Hydromondes collective and its exhibition Léman être vivant at the Espace Léman Exhibition presentation Lake Geneva and its waters support the lives of about a million people every day (and several other millions downstream). Located on multiple dividing lines (hydrographic, historical, geological, cultural…), Lake Geneva is a very unique body of water. By listening to it – at the level of its wisdom and its problems – the entire Lake Geneva territory is redrawn. This exhibition reports on the results of a multidisciplinary field survey conducted over two years. Through dialogue with residents and water actors in the broad sense, a series of plastic and narrative creations are made. They are proposals, experiments to assess the waters, and to collectively imagine their futures. Presentation of the Hydromondes collective At the crossroads of arts, sciences, and resistances, the Hydromondes collective conducts bioregional water investigations (its uses, infrastructures, and imaginaries) – always in connection with territories and their inhabitants. We come from different backgrounds: architecture, theater, hydrology, popular education, landscape architecture, biology, music, ethnography, engineering sciences… By sharing our skills and visions, we create ecologically and socially just representations of living places.
