Description
«May curses be upon greed and the greedy!» Harpagon's curses inevitably hit himself, as money is his greatest passion. He suspiciously guards his treasure and even places his children's happiness below profit. A comedy unfolds between miserly obsession and youthful love courage, which surprisingly asks: How much is money really worth to us and what are we willing to sacrifice for it?
Harpagon wants to marry off his daughter Élise solely for financial reasons. But Élise wants to forge her own path in love, and Harpagon's son Cléante even seeks to thwart his father's marriage plans. Each pursues personal goals through intrigues and hidden loves. Until a missing money box plunges the entire family into chaos.
With speed and wit, the TNT Theatre brings Molière's classic comedy about greed and human weaknesses to the stage.
