The Swedish cellist and bassist Lars Danielsson has a distinctive sound, shaped by both his origins and his classical training.
Danielsson is one of the most sought-after bassists worldwide and has played with an endless array of international stars like Michael and Randy Brecker, John Scofield, or Charles Lloyd. His singing, warm, melodic, highly cultivated tone is recognizable in seconds. His music as a leader is characterized by his unique talent for simple yet compelling melodies, his sensitivity to sounds and arrangements, and his sense for special ensembles. Echomyr, the title of the fifth album in the "Liberetto" series by Swedish double bass and cello master and composer Lars Danielsson, stands for music from the deepest interior. "The album title is an original creation," says Danielsson. "Echo describes a broad field of sound, myr is an old Nordic word for 'moor'. Sound from the depths of the earth, from the innermost core.
