Facing him, a customer hesitates, questions, negotiates, without us really knowing if she is trying to buy... or to redeem herself. Between the two, a dialogue both simple and disconcerting brings forth the fate of refugees and the echo of our own contradictions. Winner of the Femina Prize and former director of the newspaper Le Monde, Eric Fottorino signs an uncompromising story about the Mediterranean tragedy and its tragic banalization. Brought to life by two highly present actors, the text unfolds like a sensitive score where silences count as much as words. Here, the values of welcome, mutual aid, and solidarity gradually regain their weight and necessity. Facing a sea turned into an open-air cemetery, this contemporary fable invites us, without ever forcing, to no longer look away and to transform indignation into reflection, leaving our hearts permanently awake.
