Description

Solo clown and puppet show A performance by the Atelier Tentatif Peugeot, a clown and theater steward, who was tasked with cleaning the stage after a major show. There, he finds the puppet of King Gilgamesh, abandoned by the previous company, too old to serve anymore. Refusing to be thrown away, the king does everything to deny his decline and drags Peugeot into his complacent delusion. The clown improvises as a puppeteer to satisfy the sovereign, as a confidant to welcome his moods, and also as a scapegoat, because someone has to be. Will the show exist thanks to Gilgamesh's refusal to die or Peugeot's dislike of sweeping? Perhaps simply for the pure pleasure of playing. Between offbeat humor, poetry, and existential questioning, Olivier Mäusli cleverly explores the relationship with death and immortality through this atypical clown and puppet show, where laughter and reflection intertwine.
