After Cette Fille-là and Mythological Cabaret, the Fribourg-based company Théâtre Boréale adapts the infographic thriller La couleur des choses by Swiss artist Martin Panchaud (Golden Fauve 2023 in Angoulême and Swiss Youth Book Prize 2021). Simon, a fourteen-year-old young English boy, is the punching bag of the neighborhood's little thugs. One day, he meets a fortune-teller who whispers the winning quinté of the next horse race, Royal Ascot. Rich by millions, Simon goes home and finds his mother unconscious and his father missing. The teenager then decides to track them down, as he needs their signature to claim his winnings and save his family. An initiatory journey, whose original narration addresses the transition to adulthood and the quest for self, blurring our perception of reality.

General Information

La couleur des choses is a theatrical adaptation of Martin Panchaud's graphic novel, presented by Théâtre Boréale. The story follows Simon, a teenager in search of his father, after winning the lottery thanks to a fortune-teller. The play takes place at Espace Nuithonie in Villars-sur-Glâne.
