Description

Pablo Picasso attached great importance to the genre of still life. Especially in the period from 1913 to 1922, he analyzed and depicted various objects from different perspectives in his paintings. In the Sammlung Rosengart Museum, Picasso's still lifes from exactly this period can be discovered. His revolutionary cubist style is still clearly recognizable here. However, there is also a shift towards the «retour à l’ordre», that is, back to the figurative representation of individual things. This work analysis explains how the brilliant Spanish painter proceeded.
