Description
Yasmina Reza's successful theater piece about the question: What is art? Bittersweet and funny at the same time. White stripes on a white background: this image sparks a fierce argument among three friends; an argument that will fundamentally change their lives and their relationship. One may be enthusiastic about the monochrome painting, while the second vehemently opposes it. The third prefers not to take a stance... An abstract artwork serves as a catalyst for author Yasmina Reza, with whose help she analyzes a psychologically finely drawn situation that puts three men, their feelings, their well-being, their friendship, and even their entire existence to the test. "Kunst" was Yasmina Reza's first worldwide success and has been translated into over 40 languages. The German-language premiere of the comedy took place in 1995 at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz with Johannes Hallervorden, Steffen Melies, and Daniel Wobetzky. Directed by Irene Christ.
