Description

Writing futures. Far from dystopia and utopia, the Future Lab opens a space for exploring desirable and alternative futures. There are many ways to engage with futures, experience them, and learn about them. Over three afternoons, the seminar approaches its own visions of the future using creative writing methods and exchanges with others. Personal and external assumptions about the future can be playfully expanded, literary ways to depict futures in texts can be explored, and new possibilities can be opened. The exchange also offers the opportunity to learn about different perspectives and to learn from each other. Small writing exercises make future thoughts and the assumptions underlying them visible. They serve as a starting point for a journey of discovery towards new perspectives. In the process, texts are created that can surprise, generate new images, and open unfamiliar thought spaces. A creative writing seminar with a friendly look into the future that celebrates the diversity of possible future images. No prior knowledge required. The only prerequisites are joy in writing, discovering, and engaging with different life and future perspectives.
