Description

The Italian choreographer Sofia Nappi is one of the rising stars on the international dance scene. She was trained at the renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York, among others. Her working method is also influenced by Gaga, the special movement language of the Israeli dance master Ohad Naharin. In 2022, Nappi founded the contemporary dance company KOMOCO, which she has been leading ever since and with which she has been awarded multiple times for her choreographies. In collaboration with the Stuttgart Dance Festival COLOURS and the Winterthur Theater, she developed the dance piece "Chora". The title is derived from the ancient Greek term chōra, which in Plato's philosophy refers to a place or space as a receptacle for being. Sofia Nappi and her dancers are now exploring nothing less than the beginning of art. Accompanied by pulsating sound design, this energetic group embarks on a dance search for the beginning of all creative creation. Choreography: Sofia Nappi & the dancers of KOMOCO
