From June 24 to October 18, Komm Glüückck brings together thoughts, greetings, poems and stories, graphics and illustrated tales, Art Postal, as well as conceptual reflections on language and vocabularies. The diversity of artistic practice leads to exciting questions: when is a thought expressed in language, when does it take the form of an image when written? What can an image express that a text cannot - and vice versa? It is especially where language reaches its limits that art helps to make feelings and experiences visible. The way artists relate image and writing manifests in various ways: The word itself becomes an image, inscribes itself, accompanies, or comments on it. The exhibition thus opens access to the multiple facets of the interaction between seeing and reading, between linguistic expression and pictorial representation. In an artistic practice where linguistic expression is sometimes difficult or where a theoretical background is lacking, these questions take on particular urgency. Images can speak where words fail. They make sensations and experiences concrete and are capable of directly conveying facts, where language inevitably gives rise to inner images. Texts, on the other hand, can describe, differentiate, and specify what is only visually suggested. The exhibition shows how productive and complex the link between words and images is. In their interaction, both reinforce each other - whether in the precision of a reading, in their openness, or in their ambivalence and paradox.
