Description
What if the end is the beginning? What if the second half of life is very different from what we think? A woman disappears from her life and marriage – not quietly, not orderly, but "Auf allen vieren" (KiWi, 2024, translated from English by Stefanie Jacobs). Her journey through the USA begins as a road movie, but then leads straight into the female heart of darkness: menopause. She deviates from the path, lands in a motel room, and recreates herself there: dreaming, in pain, and with profoundly shocking desire. After its spectacular comic readings from "Im Spiegelsaal" and "Ich fühl’s nicht," the feminist artist collective storytelling engines again brings Miranda July's celebrated prose to the stage and tells of a woman who stops functioning – and thus begins to live.
