A poetic adventure about friendship, courage, and taking the first step into the world of F. K. Waechter with live music by Jonathan Boudevin. For children from 8 and everyone who has not lost their sense of wonder. Kiebich and Dutz tells with wit, music, and poetic power about the seduction of safe illusion worlds and the longing for real experiences. A comic becomes a window to the outside – just as today screens promise worlds that can be seen but not touched. The play asks: What happens if we don't just watch but go out ourselves? Kiebich lives in a box. Everything there is familiar. There are cushions, porridge, and a comic that explains the world to him without him having to enter it himself. Adventures to turn the pages. Safe and comfortable. But eventually, it becomes silent in the box. And Kiebich feels: a life of stories alone is not enough. So he dreams up a friend. Dutz. Dutz is cautious, gentle, and full of doubts. He loves the tightness, the shadows on the wall, and the familiar. The big world seems too loud, too vast, too dangerous to him. Between pillow mountains and playthings, the two practice what is called courage: flying, fighting, losing and finding themselves again.
