Description
or why we are all Orientals "KIFFEN, KAFFEE & KAJAL or why we are all Orientals" is a cabaret & comedy evening with Kerim Pamuk about globalization, the value of exchange, and the funny consequences of isolation. You will laugh a lot about German warnings about the "Turkish drink," thieving Brits and French, Jesus' younger brother Hong, and about the persistent "All good!", our all-purpose weapon against any hysteria. Especially our own! You will learn why Europe was only the backyard of Asia culturally, culinarily, and scientifically for a thousand years. Why Arabs, Chinese, and Indians are not quite so fond of Europeans and how black gold (pepper) became a universal remedy for Germans against constipation, erectile dysfunction, and melancholy. And of course, how the beautiful word "Kiffen" came into our language. K. K.&K. – an entertaining evening about cultural influences and linguistic horse kisses. About German sanctuaries like coffee and sofa, which we owe to Arabs, and philological accidents like "24/7" and "I'm fine with that," which we owe to Americans.
