Italian-inspired lightness – changes may be a risk – but how much can they be worth. When the Kammerakademie Potsdam sought a successor for Antonello Manacorda after one and a half decades, new realms of imagination opened up with the new appointment. Since 2024, François Leleux has not only been a passionate conductor but also an excellent oboist leading the orchestra. Leleux, associated with ensembles like Camerata Salzburg and Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, describes working with the Potsdam musicians as a stroke of luck – a meeting of musical souls on the same wavelength. The enthusiasm is mutual: shortly after taking office, the ensemble extended the contract early until 2030. In Freiburg, the Kammerakademie presents a program full of Italian-inspired lightness. Mozart's exuberant, singing pearl-like concerto KV 314, originally composed in 1777 as an oboe concerto for virtuoso Friedrich Ramm, is performed. Later, Mozart adapted the work for flute, giving it its popular form today. At the Albert concert, the solo part is performed by Emmanuel Pahud, solo flutist of the Berlin Philharmonic and a recognized Mozart expert, who has added his own cadenzas to all of Mozart's flute concertos.
