The five energetic Norwegians of Kakkmaddafakka don't need long breaks; they are made for touring and live gigs! Their energy seems never to run out. They demonstrated this again on their seventh album "Revelation." The current record is a logical continuation of "Diplomacy" (2019), which also sounded significantly more electronic than the predecessor "Hus" (2017). The five Norwegians prove once again that they can develop their sound further without straying too far from their roots. Especially the increasing influence of synthesizers has shaped Kakkmaddafakka's sound in recent years. That they also stylistically draw on older styles does not diminish the fun. Modern pop sounds like in the opener "Sixth Gear" alternate with New Wave quotes like in "Good Guy" or disco beats like in "Horses Are Running," never losing their connection to the band: "We don't sit down and say we want to make a song from the 70s or 80s," says Pål Vindenes about working on the album, "our sound is completely organic due to the various influences we have in the band. The only thing that matters to us is that in the end we can say: Yes, that's the Kakk sound!" This fall, they will again embark on an explosive European tour, not only captivating audiences with their ecstatic live shows but also pulling out their eagerly awaited new songs from their upcoming eighth album. On their tour, they will present, alongside timeless hits like "Restless," "Naked Blue," and "Forever Alone," new songs.
