Kaari Upson. Dollhouse - A Retrospective

Description

Upson's work is characterized by a remarkable diversity of media, ranging from sculptures, videos, drawings to installations. The artist's works deal in a complex way with themes such as identity, body, relationship, illness, and loss. The exhibition brings together key works by the artist, including the series connected to the famous Larry Project – a body of work that significantly shaped the beginning of her career – as well as the monumental installation THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS OUTSIDE, which was first shown at the Venice Biennale in 2019. The exhibition "Kaari Upson. Dollhouse – A Retrospective" was realized by the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebæk, in collaboration with the Kunsthalle Mannheim and the Museo d’arte della Svizzera italiana.
