Special Guest: Jan Prax Julian & Roman Wasserfuhr have been among the distinctive voices of German jazz for many years. Clear melodies, an open sound language, and atmospheric density characterize their unmistakable “Wasserfuhr sound”. For Timelines, the brothers are working again with two long-time friends: Colombian bassist Camilo Villa (Düsseldorf) and German drummer Dennis Frehse, who has been living in Tokyo for many years. The four musicians have known each other since early joint projects but had lost contact for some time. The reunion leads to a quartet where musical experiences and influences from across continents meet. As a special guest, saxophonist Jan Prax joins the ensemble. He is one of the distinctive voices of contemporary German jazz and impresses with a powerful, yet nuanced tone. A lively, rhythmically present, and melody-oriented band sound emerges. European jazz tradition, Latin American influences, and urban impulses from Japan organically intertwine, creating ample space for interaction and sound colors.
