Julian Maier-Hauff comes to his hometown Lahr. With him: ROMARE aka Archie Fairhurst. Julian Maier-Hauff, with his extensive stage experience and despite his music studies, is probably one of the most intuitive musicians on this planet. As a creative counterbalance to pop concerts (Alice Merton, Mine, Romare), his work as an artistic visionary (Orchestra meets Electronics: Elbphilharmonie, Funkhaus Berlin, Münchner Rundfunkorchester), and studio musician, he is repeatedly drawn to stages that allow processes with new formations and projects. He switches seemingly effortlessly between synthesizer, drum machine, and wind instruments like trumpet and saxophone. ROMARE aka Archie Fairhurst brings his electronic music to the stage in changing formats: as a DJ, as a live act, or in unusual band configurations like in this case with Nathan Gregory (percussion) and Julian Maier-Hauff (trumpet, saxophone, flute, effects). ROMARE, inspired by the artist Romare Bearden, creates music like collages: forming lively, rhythmic sound worlds from fragments of various sources and combining meticulous research with playful curiosity. Since his debut "Meditations On Afrocentrism" (2012), he has continuously developed his sound - from Afrocentric influences to personal reflections to abstract fantasy worlds. His tracks merge samples, instruments, and electronic beats into a distinctive style. Despite conceptual depth, his music remains danceable - whether in the club, as a DJ, or live on stage, where he shapes his tracks live, intervenes in all sound levels, and also incorporates the guitar into his arrangement. Nathan and Julian expand the live arrangement by taking up motifs solo, varying, and improvising further. Notes: The venue is not barrier-free. There are no seats at this event.
