Dr. Henry Jekyll has finally found what he searched for years: a serum that separates the evil in humans. No one believes him. Only his fiancée Lisa and his friend Gabriel John Utterson stand by his side. Since the hospital does not allow experiments on patients, Jekyll conducts a self-experiment. The result is terrible! Jekyll becomes the malicious and violent Edward Hyde. After the effect of the serum wears off, the doctor tries to stop the madness of his evil self. But Hyde, who has started a dangerous game with the prostitute Lucy, can no longer be controlled. Wildhorn's score combines pop music with classical opera structure. The music reflects Jekyll's inner turmoil. "Jekyll & Hyde" premiered in 1990 in Houston and polarized due to its dark aesthetic and departure from traditional festive musical conventions. It established itself on the New York Broadway and is still performed worldwide today.
