The folk-rock fusion duo "JC and the Tree" hails from the coastal city Sunshine Coast in Australia and draws inspiration from a natural environment. They write about life and all its complexities with lyrics full of analogies and inspirations from our natural world. Fans describe their style as complex yet accessible. With floating violin sounds, rich harmonies, piano, and handcrafted acoustic guitars, their sound is both grounded and transcendent, weaving an emotional tapestry of folk, rock, roots, contemporary, and more. The duo takes the audience on a journey through various genres and enchants with their versatility and craftsmanship. With two albums and six singles, they are currently working on their third album. Motivated by their love for nature, the duo has made great efforts to offer ethically and sustainably produced merchandise. JC and the Tree have a rich touring history in Australia, where they have been active full-time for three years. Past festivals include the Woodford Folk Festival, the Airlie Beach Festival, the Caloundra Music Fest, and many more. Founding member JC has been touring since she was 19 and has performed six times at the Glastonbury Festival (UK), WOMAD Festival (UK), Bluesfest (Australia), and Splendour in the Grass Festival (Australia). Lead singer Jesse built his two acoustic guitars himself, on which he plays, and is often busy entertaining the audience and listening to their stories after shows. He sourced the wood himself after a tree was knocked down during a tornado and carried out all work from wood harvesting to guitar making himself. He is passionate about sustainably sourcing wood for instrument making.
