Description

Rocco Canonica is a simple Ticinese mountain farmer. Born at the foot of Monte Lema, cold, hunger, and smoke are his constant companions. Sitting in the kitchen, he cleans his rifle and waits for the execution of the court sentence: the large, old walnut tree in front of the house is to be cut down. It is the story of an individual fighting against modernization and change. But those who suspect the devil everywhere risk becoming one themselves. Humorously descending. Musically supported. Playfully projected. Inspired by Walther Kauers' novel Spätholzer, Jan Pezzali theatrically recounts the life story of an insignificant person. He creates live images for the screen. He is musically accompanied by cellist Ambrosius Huber. Directed by Luigi Prezioso. An engagement with what was and what is yet to come.
