This series of excursions focuses on observing the fascinating connections that unite living organisms and offers participants the opportunity to perform a small action to promote biodiversity.
PROGRAMME: 09/05/2026 : 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Plants: daring travelers
Are plants immobile? Quite the travelers! Always searching for a suitable land to grow, plants have many tricks to travel at the expense of other organisms, with or without their consent!
Excursion around Bourguillon, with Manon Crausaz, botanist. At the end of the outing, we will perform a small action in favor of biodiversity.

10/24/2026 : 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Roots and Mycorrhizae: The invisible network in the forest
Plants and fungi belong to two different kingdoms, but that doesn't prevent them from collaborating! Roots and mycelium weave close relationships, forming a vast invisible underground communication network that allows trees to chat and help each other. Social networks before their time?
Excursion in the Galm forest (in German), with Nicolas Küffer, botanist and mycologist. At the end of the outing, we will perform a small action in favor of biodiversity.

01/31/2027 : 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Birds and insects: adaptations and perfect timing
Insects are great protein snacks that birds love, but in winter, it's hard to find something to peck! Some birds migrate, others change their diet. However, all nest in spring when insects emerge. It's about finding the best location. A well-tuned cycle to which both insects and birds have adapted.
Excursion around Villarsiviriaux, with Fabian Schneider, ornithologist. At the end of the excursion, we will place birdhouses at the Ferme du Ptit Marché to offer five-star accommodations to these gardener allies.

The 'Inter’action!' series of excursions organized by the Natural History Museum of Fribourg offers educational outings on the links between living organisms. Participants will have the opportunity to observe nature and perform actions in favor of biodiversity.
