Description
Ingeborg Bachmann's novel project «Todesarten» is one of the central literary engagements with violence, language, female existence, and social inscription in the German-speaking world of the 20th century. Bachmann understands death not as a singular event but as a structural process that already manifests in life. The types of death appear as metaphorical, psychological, and social forms of dying: as speechlessness, loss of identity, patriarchal violence, isolation, madness, and internal decay. «Modi di Morire» takes up these ideas and transforms them into an independent cinematic form. Selected text passages from «Malina», «Der Fall Franza», and «Requiem für Fanny Goldmann» create a resonance space that is not adapted but further developed cinematically. After the film screening, director Tina-Maria Feyrer and Philipp Theisohn will talk about Ingeborg Bachmann and the dialogue between novel and film. Participating artists: Tina-Maria Feyrer, Philipp Theisohn, Martina Caluori
