Description
Elsa Morante, one of Italy's most important post-war authors, stayed several times at the Waldhaus Hotel in Sils. Through her diary entries and letters to her husband, writer Alberto Moravia, a cultural history of Italy unfolds from fascism to the 1980s.
In the text collage by Karen Roth, a cultural history of Italy from fascism to the 1980s is revealed. Her friends loved Elsa Morante (1912–1985) for the breadth of her Mediterranean horizon, her ability to create all-consuming passions, her particular vigilance against the barbarity of civilization, and her sharp rejection of a world of lies and all forms of oppression. The text collage by Karen Roth is performed in a scenic reading by Graziella Rossi and Helmut Vogel.
