Description
Play with music based on the world-famous novel by Jules Verne
ENSEMBLE PERSONA, Munich London, 1872: The life of the wealthy and eccentric Lady Philea Fogg runs like a well-oiled clockwork. She leaves nothing to chance; every one of her actions is meticulously planned. But then she makes a risky bet in her London club: She wants to travel around the world in 80 days – by land, water, and air. Said and done. Lady Fogg and her French servant Passepartout set off headlong and plunge into their adventurous journey around the globe. But soon the question arises: Is Fogg just a hectic tourist, or is the sought-after robber of the Bank of England hiding behind her noble facade? Secret agent Fix from Scotland Yard suspects the worst and starts the pursuit to put Fogg behind bars. Soon he is hot on the heels of the two globetrotters. They travel at breakneck speed – by train and ship and, if necessary, on the back of an elephant – and must overcome storms, attacks, and other disasters. It is a race against time. Can Lady Fogg still win the bet? In this dazzling spectacle full of poetry, Jules Verne tells of the feverish pursuit of success and effortlessly, wittily, and cleverly poses central questions about our modern existence.
