With the IMAGINARIUM, the Prague artist collective around Matěj Forman – son of the famous director Miloš Forman – creates a fascinating world between book pages, scenery, theater, and puppet theater. The fully analog, handcrafted installations and images invite not only to marvel: you can enter, touch, and discover them yourself. For the first time, the IMAGINARIUM can now be experienced as an exhibition at the Literaturhaus Munich. The labyrinthine stage worlds tell fantastic stories and also make visible the special love for detail and the craftsmanship involved. The evening tour opens a behind-the-scenes look: it tells of the origins of the IMAGINARIUM, the theater of the Forman brothers, Czech workshops, and a shared passion – the craft of puppet theater. MAGDALENA KOLAR is an art historian and holds a doctorate from LMU Munich. Her research focus is on Czech art of the early 20th century.
