THEATERTAGE Competition Charms, born 120 years ago in St. Petersburg and who experienced the Russian Revolution at the age of 12, perished miserably in one of Stalin's prisons in 1942. He was found starved to death. His attitude towards life under Stalin, reflected in his texts, was not suitable to please a totalitarian ruler. With absurd comedy and black humor, he vividly depicted the hopelessness and alienation of people in an unpredictable world. The performance based on the texts of Charms is accompanied by information about the situation of artists in Russia under Putin. Directed and performed by Jürgen Nentwig and Michael Grunert. The HEIDELBERG THEATERTAGE 2026 are organized by the Free Theater Association Heidelberg e. V. in cooperation with the Karlstorbahnhof e. V. The festival is supported by the city of Heidelberg through the Cultural Office and by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden-Württemberg through the State Association of Amateur Theater Baden-Württemberg e. V.
