Description

In Switzerland, we consume an average of nearly 200 eggs and 15 kilograms of chicken per person per year. Our culinary love for chickens raises questions: Where do chickens actually come from? What characterizes their way of life? Are they really stupid and blind? How many breeds of chickens are there, and what do they look like? How did the chicken become such a significant source of food for us? And what does that mean for the animals? This special exhibition looks beyond the dinner plate and allows visitors to discover the many facets of the chicken—and to reflect on how we use it. An exhibition by the Museum zu Allerheiligen in Schaffhausen and the Thurgau Natural History Museum.
