The Solothurn artist Luzia Hürzeler (*1976) has been dealing for many years with the representation of animals as well as the cultural ideas that people develop about them. In her photographs, videos, and installations, Luzia Hürzeler critically questions how animals are staged in natural history museums, zoological gardens, or in art, and what meanings are attributed to them. The exhibition invites visitors to trace the construction of "nature images" and explore alternative perspectives. Thus, at the Kunstmuseum Solothurn, founded in 1902 as the "Museum of Art and Science," wolves, birds, or gorillas are once again protagonists. The show weaves in further artistic positions that illuminate human-animal-nature relationships from different viewpoints. In collaboration with the Naturmuseum Solothurn.
