Description
At the center of Hubert Blanz's artistic work is the relationship between landscape, city, and digital networking. Using photography, collages, as well as video and spatial installations, he explores the interconnection of natural and human-influenced structures. The exhibition project Stadt-Land-Cyberspace features ten different groups of works that address these questions from various perspectives. The starting point is a model of a landscape city developed specifically for the exhibition. Here, Blanz focuses on the Rhine Valley in Vorarlberg and the ongoing densification of settlement areas. He discusses the merging of communities into a continuous settlement belt and critically examines sprawl, dependency on traffic, and the loss of open spaces. The exhibition at Bildraum Bodensee presents the Rhine Valley as an example of the transformation of modern landscapes and connects regional developments with global questions about the future of cities, countryside, and living space.
