Description

Since 1995, the band HISS has been on the road. When Mount Etna and Eyjafjallajökull erupted, when century floods and hurricanes caused great damage, they cheered and comforted us. After Germany's defeat against Croatia in the quarter-finals of the 1998 World Cup and during the financial crisis, after the Fukushima nuclear disaster and during many epidemics, they helped us keep perspective, put things into context, and cope. Since 1995, HISS has been providing lyrical life advice for all situations of existence, the rhythm for lively dance evenings, the soundtrack to our everyday life. And they do this without demanding much: thunderous applause, a little wine, a snack, and a few coins are enough reward for them. "For a Handful of Cents" is also the title of their new record, released in the 30th year of their existence, delighting us with more than a handful of new songs. We hear songs full of power, wit, and life experience about eternal themes of love, addiction, long-distance travel, and weather, in the unique worldwide mix of polka and rock'n'roll, Tex-Mex and Balkan blues, ska and country, from dirt and schmaltz.
