Hey, hey, hey Taxi, here it is, I get in and off we go… Where will it take me? Who is driving? What happens on my journey? We experience taxis that transform, taxi drivers who speak the Odjo language, get stranded with pirates on the riverbank, travel to the moon, or ride through the city with the short-necked sad giraffe. We encounter our worries and wishes, our longing and our happiness. Get in and buckle up! Telling stories is the common thread running through “Hey, hey, hey, Taxi!”. Dangers and fears, being excluded from the community, being overlooked – but none of the stories weigh heavily on the stomach. Instead, they offer confidence to face life, let the imagination run free, and above all, to invent new stories themselves. With quirky songs, lots of music, and transforming everyday objects, La Grenouille stages a bouquet full of wild, funny, and inspiring taxi adventures from the book of the same name by Saša Stanišić.
