Delia Mayer, recently celebrated at Theater Basel in the title role of ‹Lady in the Dark› and as a witch in ‹Into the Woods›, dedicates herself to Kreisler's biting and precise cabaret songs, forming a touching one-woman musical. The life of Lola Blau goes off the rails: The Jewish actress flees Austria, which is connected to the Anschluss, across Switzerland to the USA to escape the Nazis, where she sustains herself through performances in nightclubs. Searching for her former lover, she returns to her hometown Vienna, where she must realize that life has returned to normal without hesitation.
