Description

With the children's opera «Herr der Diebe», the Zurich Opera House opens a new venue: the former cinema «Sternen» in Zurich-Oerlikon is transformed into the setting for an exciting musical theater adventure. In Cornelia Funke's novel of the same name, the abandoned cinema «Stella» becomes a refuge for a band of orphans. Scipio – the «Herr der Diebe» – their mysterious leader, has organized this hideout and supplies the gang with stolen goods from his nocturnal raids. No one knows his name or origin. Not even Prosper and Bo, who have found shelter with the gang while fleeing from their aunt Esther. But the persistent detective Victor Getz is on their trail, and a mysterious assignment puts everyone in danger. The libretto by Swiss playwright Andreas Sauter is set to music by three composition students from ZHdK.
