The Zurich Sing Academy and Basel Chamber Orchestra present Haydn's Theresienmesse and Nelsonmesse in a new interpretation. These two masterpieces, created in Haydn's later years, showcase the diversity and depth of his sacred music. Conducted by René Jacobs, the concert continues the project of performing and recording all major Haydn masses, offering audiences a profound experience of his spiritual compositions. The Theresienmesse is bright and elegant, while the Nelsonmesse is dramatic and intense, reflecting the turbulent times of its creation.
