In great detail, Rether links current events with forgotten ones, the near with the distant, questions, denies, doubts. He thoroughly shakes the central beliefs of Western 'civilization', exposes so-called factual constraints as collective fictions to laughter. With surprising comparisons, he entices the audience to change perspective – to a different view of the world, the future, the mirror, and even to face uncomfortable truths. And he calls on us to free ourselves from our often instrumentalized fear and anger. Rether's LOVE is tragic, funny, painful, contagious: The constantly evolving program with the same title causes lasting dissatisfaction with simple explanations and encourages independent thinking and action.
