Description
This exhibition explores how graphic design influences our daily lives by illustrating the creation and impact of visual language. The first part features historical posters and objects demonstrating how graphic design evokes desire, conveys stereotypes, and shapes cultural identities, including representations of gender roles, Swissness, and exotic motifs, some of which are now considered racist. The second part reveals how graphic design is created, from poster design and logos to typography, stamps, and exhibition graphics, with interactive stations inviting visitors to try their hand at design. The exhibit highlights the complexity, creativity, and societal importance of graphic design, past, present, and future.
