German Premiere Schaubude Berlin · Stage GPO Box No. 211 Théâtre du Poulet, Netherlands Duration: 60 minutes without spoken language with minimal English written text Object Theater "My friend Siu Ming and I write each other long letters for three years while he sits in Hong Kong as a political prisoner. Since we know the letters will be censored, our writing style changes – we write them in code, poetically, formulated between the lines of text. And even though I write my letters in a place where there is freedom of opinion, I run up against the invisible borders of my own thoughts." GPO Box No. 211 is a visual reflection on intellectual freedom, isolation and communication. It is the attempt to maintain a friendship beyond barriers and great distances – even when the connection feels fragile. The quiet production, similar to a dream where the stationary becomes the protagonist, received the ZKB Acknowledgement Prize at the 2024 edition of Zurich Theatre Spectacle.
