It is a pleasure to have Guiliano da Empoli explain this development. The author seems to draw from a wealth of facts and supplement them with a manageable amount of imagination. His writing style is lively, vivid, and dialogue-rich. (...) Here, his sentences reach the universality of a practical politics textbook. All of this makes the book an entertaining read, which, in terms of the quality of its knowledge transfer, is on par with a non-fiction book. "The Magician in the Kremlin" is a great, successful effort.
