Description
The person behind the diagnosis
People with mental illnesses are often plagued by guilt and shame and withdraw socially. Although every second person in Switzerland suffers from a mental illness at some point in their lives, little is spoken about it. Those affected face misunderstanding. To understand and make the suffering visible, we talk with affected individuals about their stories and their mental crises. The conversation is led by moderator and psychologist Matthias Boss. Suicide – Survivors of Suicide Meret tells:
Meret's brother took his own life. The blow of fate tore the ground from under her feet. The open handling of the experience in her environment was very important for her grieving process. Additionally, writing music gave her a lot of support. In her album «Goodbye Lullabies», she processes her brother's suicide. To find a different approach to the topic, Meret will present some songs from the album and speak about the loss at the same time. She is convinced that if we give more space to the topic, it becomes more bearable and brings us closer together.
