People with mental illnesses are often plagued by guilt and shame and withdraw socially. Although every second person in Switzerland suffers from a mental illness at some point in their lives, little is spoken about it. Those affected face misunderstanding. To understand and make visible the suffering, we talk with affected individuals about their stories and their mental crises. The conversation is led by moderator and psychologist Matthias Boss. Between Anorexia and Binge Eating Linda tells:
Linda has been living with eating disorders for 12 years. It all started with a diagnosis of Crohn's disease at the age of 11. The diagnosis marked the beginning of a deep rejection of her own body. Followed by years of anorexia. Later, she developed an exercise addiction and had her first hospital stay in 2017. Over time, anorexia developed into a binge eating disorder. Despite everything, Linda has always managed to look forward. Today, she advocates for destigmatization of mental illnesses and would like to work in prevention in the future.
