Purnama is a Czech death/black metal band active since 2011. In 2017, they released their debut album Lioness, which helped them gain wider attention in the domestic scene. In 2020, they followed up with their second album Flame of Rebellion, recorded at The Barn studio and mixed in Sweden under the supervision of Andy LaRocque (King Diamond). This album was released under MetalGate Records, and the band supported it with extensive tours in the Czech Republic and abroad. Purnama is known not only for their heavy music but also for charitable projects like Metal for Hope, which helps children with cancer. Their performances are intense, technically precise, and full of dark atmosphere. Syridas (Ostrava)
A young but significantly growing melodic death metal band formed in 2021. After a very successful debut Awaken (2021), they released their second album When Death Calls in 2024, which confirmed their position in the Czech metal scene. Syridas quickly gained attention not only from club visitors but also from fans at festivals like MetalGate Czech Death Fest or Slezskoostravský hrad. Their live performances are full of energy, technical precision, and emotional expression that leaves a strong impression. A band from Hungary formed in 2024. The band does not want to conform to musical trends or narrow genre boundaries. Their songs often feature heavy, dark riffs and strong melodies with symphonic elements. According to their own statement, it is an "uncompromising" creative path where songs are created freely, instinctively, and are not bound by any constraints. Their very first debut single, released in 2025, is titled “Végtelen Tél”. In the same year, they released their debut EP “Fény és Örvény”, which contains 3 tracks. The band is already working on their first album, expected to be released in 2026. Tortharry (Hronov)
Since their formation in 1991, Tortharry has been one of the most prominent death metal bands in the Czech scene. Their early work captures the raw brutality of the 90s, while later albums bring technical development, atmosphere, and conceptual depth. The band has long maintained its own identity — ferocity combined with modern production and a characteristic dark mood. Albums like When The Memories Are Free, Unseen, Beneath, or Altars of Ignorance have defined their position as a band that grows with each release. Memory of Stones (2024) marks another milestone — the first completely Czech album that connects modern sound, mythological motifs, and personal testimony. A three-member metal nuclear bomb. Musicians, bored with the standard approach, have delved into the depths of alternative analog solutions. Their repertoire includes short minute-long grindcore tracks as well as complex rock metal ballads, transitioning into death metal, groove metal, djent, and many other unspecified or yet unnamed musical genres! Colosalist is a Czech-Norwegian band. Originally just a studio project formed in 2013, it transformed in 2022 into a full-fledged musical group made up of long-time friends and experienced musicians. Colosalist brings doom/pagan metal with a cinematic atmosphere and strong emotional charge. Their work combines heavy riffs, captivating melodies, and dark soundscapes inspired by nature, mythology, and raw human emotions. The band creates music that immerses listeners in an intense and imaginative atmosphere where melancholy, strength, and cinematic monumentality intertwine. Their debut album Two Suns, released on September 9, 2025, promises a deep journey between light and darkness. Hypnotic Scenery (Havířov)
A Czech death/doom metal band from Havířov, founded in 1991. Initially rooted in grindcore, they soon transitioned to a mix of death/doom, thrash metal, and heavy metal, often utilizing atmospheric keyboards and Latin recitations. Among their most significant recordings are the demos Detur (1993) and Crystal Curtain (1994) and the debut full-length album Vacuum (1995), which is considered a classic of the Czech metal scene. This was followed by the albums Deeper and Deeper (1997) and the last studio album Back in the Bloody Ruins (2002). The band ceased performing in 2004 but is now returning to the scene after years and looks forward to seeing you.
