Prague band Good Times Only (GTO) is preparing their third studio album for the first half of 2026. Unlike their previous albums, Pěkný chvíle (2020) and Teď na to myslim (2023), GTO is now pursuing a path of creative and studio freedom without producer assistance. While they collaborated with Jakub Kaifosz (Lazer Viking, Wild Tides) on the first two recordings, during the creation of new songs they occasionally utilize production consultations from Nikola Šolaja (Kvietah, Atomy Nevadí), who otherwise serves as the mixing engineer. The songwriting for the new tracks is even more straightforward, with all five members working in their home studio, occasionally visiting the friendly Space Tape studio. The lead single titled GTFO, released in October 2025, was also created in collaboration with producer fiedlerski (Mirai, Ben Cristovao, Marcell). A change in the sound of the five-member boy band includes a newly discovered assertiveness, with added distorted guitars, rock influences, and abrasiveness. It is no coincidence that among the references in the working versions of the recordings, the band Deftones appeared. In addition to piercing guitars, rich synth layers, dirty breakbeats, and a capricious piano can be heard—all contributing to a sonic density, within which GTO does not lose clarity and can express themselves more clearly than ever through their Czech lyrics. Their typical love songs and reflections on crumbling relationships alternate with confessions about inner insecurities, patterns of toxic behavior, as well as fears of the future and experiences with therapy. For the first time in their discography, GTO also promises features with other musicians.
