Description

Gantenbein imagines a life and plays it out in various drafts and episodes, discards them, and constantly reinvents himself. Gantenbein is not a hero. Thrown into the world, he is aimlessly wandering in Zurich. Gantenbein pretends to be blind. He observes people through sunglasses, believing he can understand them. He falls in love with an actress, and she plays along. They enter into a relationship, lovingly and intellectually constructed. Everything seems to work. But then something appears that cannot be controlled: jealousy, a feeling that destroys his construction. Irrational, brutal, and honest. Gantenbein is not a love story. It is a laboratory. A work on storytelling. An open wound. Director Basil Zecchinel and actor Max Kraus explore with the author Frisch, jealousy, identity, and a sense of being lost in Zurich.
