Guided Tour of the Exhibition «Fantastic Maps of Legendary Stories»

Description

What connects Middle-earth with Switzerland? How do new fantastic worlds arise from myths, fairy tales, and historical maps? And what stories are hidden behind maps from literature, games, and film? On our public guided tour of «Fantastic Maps of Legendary Stories», you embark on a journey between reality and fiction. The tour is led by a member of the curatorial team who provides exciting insights into the creation of the exhibition and background information on selected exhibits. Discover surprising connections, extraordinary rarities, and the fascinating world of (invented) cartography – from early world concepts to Tolkien, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and Dungeons & Dragons. Come by – the next fantastic world is just a map away. For ZB events (tours, courses, lectures), audio aids (including induction loops for hearing aids) are available for people with hearing impairments. Please contact kommunikation@zb.uzh.ch if needed.
