Friedensreich Hundertwasser's work is a passionate invitation to see the world with different eyes and to experience it sensually anew. In his artistic creations, all elements are equal, standing side by side without linear perspective, thus overriding traditional hierarchies. Hundertwasser presents a different view of the world: buildings transform into organic structures, trees become luminous color bodies, and humans become part of an ornamental landscape. In his visions, human creations follow nature and blend in as if grown there – without straight lines and right angles. Familiar viewing habits are magically overridden. For his printmaking, Friedensreich Hundertwasser set new standards and employed many innovations. His screen prints are assembled from over 20 layers of color using experimental techniques, including foil embossing and glass dust overlays, to individualize editions and produce unique pieces in series. Friedensreich Hundertwasser Regentag Dunkelbunt, born Friedrich Stowasser (1928–2000), was an Austrian artist known as a painter, architect, and environmentalist. His style, which opposed straight lines, and the integration of nature into his architecture became his trademarks. Hundertwasser lived and worked in Vienna (AUT), Venice (ITA), and Kawanaka (NZL).
