Description

Special screening in cooperation with CSP Bern. To escape oppression and a tormenting past, Shewit fled from Eritrea. At the age of 15, after being held captive by human traffickers in Libya, she finally reached Switzerland, the country she had placed all her hopes in. Seven years later, she still does not have a residence permit; her fate is in the hands of Swiss authorities. As an asylum seeker facing deportation, Shewit continues to fight for her dream: to become a free woman. A struggle for her emancipation, filmed over a period of ten years.
